Corporate Social Responsibility

The belief in ethics and our tradition has led XS Real to forge a Classical Connect, resulting in ‘Classical Coronation’, an annual event, where the valuable contributions of the Carnatic music artistes and odhuvars, are recognized, with awards.

As a responsible corporate citizen, XS Real supports proper tax payments, which contribute to India's growth. XS Real backs the 'Say No to Cash in Real Estate Transactions' ideology. We urge 'good buying' by bidding 'good bye' to black money in Real Estate transactions!

Nine different categories of Musicians were recognized and rewarded:

XS Real Lifetime Achievement Award - Rs 1,00,000/-
An artiste of outstanding merit in Carnatic music or who has rendered significant national service in the field through scholarship, research or original contribution.

XS Real Senior Vocalist Award – Male - Rs 50,000/-
An eminent senior practitioner or music scholar, with individual achievements of high professional order.

XS Real Senior Vocalist Award - Female - Rs 50,000/-
A prominent senior practitioner or music scholar, with highly significant individual achievements in the field.

XS Real Senior Instrumentalist Award - String & Wind Instruments - Rs 50,000/-
A renowned senior instrumentalist and guru of Veena, Violin, Nadaswaram, Flute or other string and wind instruments.

XS Real Senior Instrumentalist Award - Percussion Instruments - Rs 50,000/-
An eminent senior instrumentalist and scholar of Mridangam, Thavil, Ghatam, Ganjira or other percussion instruments, with noteworthy individual professional achievements.

XS Real Junior Vocalist Award - Rs 25,000/-
A promising male or female vocalist will be chosen for the award. XS Real Junior Instrumentalist Award - Rs 25,000/-
A highly talented upcoming male or female instrumentalist will be chosen for the award

SPECIAL CATEGORIES

"The Odhuvars, who sing the Thirumurais (7 to 12 AD) in the 'Pann traditions' in Tamil during temple pujas, deserve special mention. These Odhuvars were patronized by many great renowned art & music lovers like Raja Raja Chola, one thousand years ago. XS Real wishing to continue in their footsteps and help preserve the classical tradition had honored present day Odhuvars stalwarts. Twenty Odhuvars from across Tamil Nadu were honored with XS Real Paramanaiye Paaduvaar cash awards of Rs 20,000/- each.

Judges

CLASSICAL MUSIC PANEL:
XS Real Classical Coronation has been decided by a panel of accomplished judges, who have built an enviable reputation for impartiality and objectivity. They had deployed a set of rigorous parameters to help them choose the best from an extremely competitive and talented set of performers who have blazed a trail of their own.

Panelists & Awardees
A prominent Carnatic classical vocalist whose captivating voice, clarity in diction, uncompromising adherence of tradition and unique style, has captured the imagination of music lovers. An A-grade All India Radio artist, he is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt of India and has performed in USA, UK, Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Singapore and Malaysia.
Ramprasadh has composed music for documentary films, cassettes and dance productions.
Kosmic Music, Music Today, HMV, Times Music, Amutham Inc of USA, Lahari, Sangeetha have also released his audio albums
He has been awarded with the titles Gaanakalashree from the Karnataka Ganakala Parishath, Asthaana Vidwaan of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Kanchipuram ; Naada Vallabha ; Gaana Gandharva ; Ganakala Visharada and Youth Excellence Award, from Rotary Club of Madras.

ODUVARS PANEL:

Tiruttani N. Swaminathan

The Panellists for Odhuvar Awards:
Tiruttani N. Swaminathan, aged 65, is a renowned Oduvar known for his knowledge of music and the Saivaite tradition. At present, he is teaching at a school in Chidambaram which is offering five years course on Thevaram singing.
He got his formal training in schools at Thirukadavur and Dharmapuram and served as a Temple Odhuvar at Tirutani Murugan Temple. He has been performing in various places and in some foreign countries. He has been awarded with Kalaimamani and Thirumurai Kalanidhi.

Dharumapuram Jnanaprakasam

He is a veteran Thevaram singer. Aged 65, he served as Associate Professor of Music at Annamalai University till 2006. He is a disciple of the Great M.M. Dhandapani Desigar and has done ‘Sangeetha Bhusan’ course in addition to the traditional Thevaram training. He has rendered service in Mylapore Kapaleeswara temple and is an 'A' grade artist in AIR. He has been awarded with Kalaimamani, Thirumurai Kalanidhi besides other titles. He has been awarded with 'Pannisai Vendhar' recently by Tamil Isai Sangam, Chennai.

Prof M. Vaithialingam

Aged 75, he retired as Professor of Tamil in a College in Dindugal. He has formal training in Music from Pannisai Sundaresanar of Kumbakonam.
He is a Musicologist and has been in the lecture circuit presenting papers and writing article on Thevaram Music.
He has been awarded with Isaikalai Selvar, Tamizhneri Selvar etc. He is presently serving as the Secretary to the Ramalingar Pani Manram, Chennai.

The first Classical Coronation event was conducted on Sunday, 23rd January, 2011 at Lady Andal Sir Mutha Venkata Subbarao Concert Hall, in Chetpet,Chennai.
